Why survey first

A quote without a visit is a guess

Two shops of the same size can need completely different systems. One has a glass front facing west into the afternoon sun; the other has a side entrance from a dark lane. One has a stable internet line; the other relies on a mobile router. None of this shows up in a phone call.

The survey lets us see the building, measure cable routes, check power and internet, and understand how you use the space. It is how we can give you a fixed, itemised price — and it is why the price on our quote is the price on the invoice.

Wall and ceiling surfaces, heights and viewing angles, marked with you before any decision.

Cable routes

The cleanest path from each camera to the recorder, through conduit, false ceilings or trunking.

Power & backup

Socket locations, earthing and whether a UPS is needed to keep recording through load-shedding.

Internet & viewing

Router location and connection quality for reliable mobile viewing away from the premises.

Recording needs

How many days of footage you need to keep, which sets the hard disk size.

Most homes and shops go from first call to a working system within a week. Larger commercial and industrial projects are scheduled around your operations.

How to get the most from the visit

Make a short list of what worries you most — theft at the counter, the back gate, staff areas, the parking.
Think about how many days of footage you would like to keep.
If you already have cameras, keep the recorder password handy so we can check it.
Know who should be able to view cameras on their phone.
For offices and buildings, ask the person who manages the premises to join the walk-through.
